NJ FRAMES Guides Local Response to Coastal Hazards

The NJ FRAMES Project is a resiliency planning initiative in the Two Rivers region of Monmouth County, NJ that will seek to develop a regional adaptation plan to guide local efforts in response to coastal hazards. The project is facilitated by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJ DEP) through a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The Project Team consists of representatives from NJ DEP, Louis Berger Group, Rutgers University, and Oceanport Borough (represented by Millennium Strategies). The Rutgers University team is contributing to this resilience effort by bringing the latest climate science and planning tools to the team in order to enhance community and stakeholder engagement. The Rutgers team is also working to facilitate different working groups of public, private and not-for-profit stakeholders within the region to guide the project team toward an inclusive and science-based set of planning alternatives that match with local visions for the future of the region.
