This project involved development of a Municipal Public Access Plan for the City of New Brunswick, which is located at the top of the tidal reach for the Raritan River. Development of MPAPs enable communities to better plan, implement, maintain and improve the provision of public access for its residents and visitors. Upon approval by the State and adoption by the City’s Planning Board, the MPAP will be incorporated into the municipality’s Master Plan, in accordance with the Municipal Land Use Law (N.J.S.A 40:55D). The MPAP, as an official component of the municipal Master Plan, informs and/or identifies public access requirements associated with any proposed development or redevelopment project.
